Producing commercials, new media and films from our own angle.

Jamie Howard founded HowardFilms with the mission of “entertaining, informing and connecting with an audience in new and unexpected ways.” The venture is the natural outcome of a decade spent in commercial advertising, where Howard learned the requirements (and the limitations) of writing and directing for a national audience that he could rarely spend more than 30-seconds on, until now. The home of the first outdoor and angling films continues to combine literary writing with the latest technology and cinematography to create award-winning content that has been the result of hard work from day one.

It all began with a risk. A planned break from writing, directing and collaborating on commercial productions for the advertising industry in New York.   A modest investment in a small independent film on the native bonefisherman of Andros, Bahamas. In Search of a Rising Tide helped usher in the fishing film era when it premiered on the big (and little) screens after a willing TV exec took a small chance on a half-hour program. Since then, the world has seen the door open wider to outdoor media. Fly Fishing America devoted an entire episode to the surging popularity of modern Fishing Films. Since then, we have poured or waking hours into tracking tarpon on the fly, Bonefish on the flats, road tripping for big Largemouth Bass in secret spots of California, and our biggest film to date: Running the Coast, which finds us intercepting the Striped Bass migration from The Chesapeake Bay to Maine.

A big fish deserves the big screen. (Heck, any size fish does.)

Today, HowardFilms is honored to have Chasing Silver become a part of the IGFA Hall of Fame and is featured in its theater in Dania Beach, Florida.. If you are nearby we invite you to check it out on the big screen!

Who knows what we’ll find next. But rest assured, we’ll bring our cameras.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions about our films or projects yet to be captured.

Thanks for stopping by!
